BUS 123: Personal Finance; Samira Hussein
- Getting started
- If this is your first Blackboard course, please consider attending one of the general orientation sessions offered on the JCCC campus at the beginning of the semester (the scheduled dates are found in the DL letter at the link in the next sentence). All of the information you need to get started in the class is found
- Students are required to send an email to the instructor during the first two weeks of class time. Those who have not corresponded will be dropped for non-attendance in order to meet the JCCC requirement.
- On-Campus Class Meetings
- There are no on campus meetings required for this course.
- Tests
- All tests are completed on-line in Blackboard. All tests are administered online and may be taken from any computer that has access to the web.
- Self-paced or deadlines
- Students may work at their own pace as long as they finish all the materials by the given deadline at the end of the semester.
- Frequency of course access
- The student should access the course on a daily basis and should devote at least 7 hours per week study time.
- Basic online format
- Assignments are submitted through Blackboard assignment drop box. I do require participation in on-line discussions. All assignments are accessed through Blackboard also. The student keeps track of their progress based on the grade-book in Blackboard.
- Textbooks
- Kapoor, Dlabay and Hughes, Personal Finance, 7thed. Textbook information is available online at the JCCC Bookstore.
- Computer skills required
- I like for students to use Microsoft Office to submit assignments. They need to know how to attach files, upload and download files.
