- Getting started
- Before you begin the class, please read the JCCC Letter to Online Students, which will provide the information you need to get started in the class. The link is web.jccc.net/academic/dl/studentletter.htm. If this is your first Blackboard CE course, please consider attending one of the general orientation sessions offered on the JCCC campus at the beginning of the semester. Information about dates and times is listed in the Letter to Online Students.
- On-Campus Class Meetings
- No on-campus meetings are required for this course.
- Tests
- Tests, quizzes, and assignments are all submitted through Blackboard.
- Self-paced or deadlines
- Students need to abide by specific timeframe parameters; online quizzes and online threaded discussions take place each week (twice weekly during the summer semester). Students will complete one chapter per week (two chapters during the summer).
- Frequency of course access
- Students will need to access course materials several times a week via Blackboard as well as participate in class discussions via the Discussions tool in Blackboard.
- Basic online format
- Students will use information provided in their textbook and on the course website to facilitate the learning of concepts.
- Textbooks
- There is a textbook for this course. Textbook information is available at the JCCC Bookstore.
- Computer skills required
- Students need good overall word processing (Microsoft Word), email, and web browsing skills.
