- Getting started
- If this is your first Blackboard class, please consider attending one of the general online orientation sessions offered on campus at the start of the semester.
- Log onto Blackboard (at online.jccc.edu), click on the Syllabus folder for course specific information. You should read each document in that folder carefully and refer to it often during the semester.

- There are deadlines for the quizzes and exams. Quizzes will be taken online through Blackboard. A total of 4 exams will need to be taken on-campus at the testing center during specified weeks of the semester.
- Self-paced or deadlines
- This course is set up as a structured course with targeted weeks and deadlines established for assignments, quizzes and exams.
- Frequency of course access
- Every couple of days is ideal.
- Basic online format
- Online discussion will be provided in addition to assignments, quizzes and exams.
- Textbooks
- Required textbook: Perspectives in Nutrition, 7th edition, by Wardlaw and Hampl. You will also need the online code for NutritionCalc Plus 2.0. Textbook information is available online at the JCCC Bookstore.
- Computer skills required
- Know how to attach documents, Use of Blackboard software. Basic computing skills.
