BIOL 130: Environmental Science Lecture; Judy Follo
- Getting started
- The syllabus will be emailed to all class members within a week of the class beginning. Information about online classes in general can be found at the following link: web.jccc.edu/academic/dl/
- On-Campus Class Meetings
- There are no on-campus meetings but I do require a one-day (5 - 8 hours) service learning project. This entails working with a local agency on an environmental issue that interests the student.
- Tests
- Tests are administered online via the learning management system.
- Self-paced or deadlines
- This is not a self-paced class. Lectures are posted on a weekly basis. Assignments, discussions, and papers have regular deadlines within each unit of study.
- Frequency of course access
- The course can be accessed daily.
- Basic online format
- Students are to participate in weekly online discussions. Assignments are to be written in Microsoft Word and submitted in the Assignment Drop Box in the learning management system. Students will be required to upload photos in discussions and assignments as well.
- Textbooks
- Textbook information is available online at the JCCC Bookstore. Online versions from CourseSmart are available.
- Computer skills required
- Basic word processing skills and the ability to upload photos is required. Please be sure to check the systems check nugget on the homepage that your computer has the correct plug-ins and browser.
