- The catalogue has a statement requesting student email me through My JCCC one week prior to class. Additionally, I mail an introductory letter with a Blackboard disc to their residence of record.

- Students take all exams and quizzes online.
- Self-paced or deadlines
- Students work within parameters (assignments for the course are available from Day 1)
- Frequency of course access
- Presently students have no specific number of times to access the course, but I am moving in the direction of requiring twice weekly contact.
- Basic online format
- The present format includes weekly chapter assignments (there is an e-book); weekly quizzes; weekly discussion questions and monthly live chats.
- Textbooks
- Students have the option to purchase a text or simply use the e-book. Textbook information is available online at the JCCC Bookstore.
- Computer skills required
- Very basic computer skills: familiarity with Blackboard; ability to post messages.
