ACCT 121: Accounting I; Shirly Kleiner

Getting started
If this is your first Blackboard course, please consider attending one of the general orientation sessions offered on the JCCC campus at the beginning of the semester (the scheduled dates are found in the DL letter at the link in the next sentence). All of the information you need to get started in the class is found under the Start Here icon on the home page of the course. The course will be open and available for class participation on the first day of the semester.
Students are required to send an email to the instructor during the first two weeks of class time. Those who have not corresponded will be dropped for non-attendance in order to meet the JCCC requirement.
If you are interested in the Self paced section of the course, you must contact Shirly Kleiner for needed information and a contract.
On-Campus Class Meetings
There are no on-campus meetings required.
Tests
All tests are administered online and may be taken from any computer that has access to the web.
Self-paced or deadlines
Students may work at their own pace as long as they finish all the materials by the given deadline at the end of the semester. The deadline will be midnight of the second day of scheduled finals for the spring or fall semester and Wednesday of the last week of the summer session.
Frequency of course access
Daily--for the average student, you will need to spend 9-12 hours of study time each week in order to finish the materials in a normal 16 week semester.
Basic online format
The student will use the information provided with their textbook and on the course website to facilitate the learning of the concepts. Special study tips are provided under the Start Here icon. All course email correspondence will take place in the mail system of the course software.
